19. I'm here, I'm a freakin' genius; get used to it!

When the young Johannes Brahms showed up to ask for help from the composer Robert Schumann for help with his first compositions, this is what Schumann saw and heard: Three Sonatas for piano solo, opus 1, 2 and 5.


Brahms was18 years old at the time. Yup. 18. They don't build 'em like that anymore, folks....


I have chosen a recording of young man for you to hear/see, en hommage a la jeunesse de mon cher Jo Brahms quand il composa cette oeuvre merveilleux en 1853!

Brahms Sonata No.3, Opus 5, in f minor - might I suggest a gin and tonic or two? You might need a snack break; I am into oven roasted dulse with coconut oil, but you can always try Lindt 85% chocolate...
